My etsy shop has been on the back burner for the last year or so, but I’m finally going to be breathing some new life into it in the coming weeks / months. I started the shop in 2016, and over the last few years it has evolved quite a bit. I started off making motivational t-shirts and pins before diving into my beach plastic line of greeting cards (and t-shirts) - and now, I’m introducing a new venture: vintage!
Thrifting is one of my favorite hobbies - and one of my biggest sources of inspiration. It’s a lot like beach combing in that it’s like hunting for treasure. On any given day, you never know what you might find. With the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, I sadly haven’t been to a beach in months - I haven’t been gathering new beach plastic materials and have largely lost the momentum I had when I started the project series a couple years ago. I am not saying this is the end of my beach plastic creations forever - but for now it is currently on pause.
I’ve also been thinking a lot about stuff in general - and what it means to be a “maker” of stuff. Throughout my years of producing products like enamel pins, t-shirts, and cards - I have thought long and hard about the sustainability of it all. At times, it’s felt contradictory to be creating all this new stuff when there is already SO much old stuff already out there. It oftentimes feels like the last thing the planet needs is more stuff in its system. And that’s why the idea of curating and selling vintage goods has appealed to me and been on my mind for awhile. I just haven’t jumped into it - until now.
For now, I am sticking primarily to homewares (tons of cute kitchen stuff) - but hoping to branch out in the near future. Below are some of the things I recently listed (and is currently for sale). If you click through to the image - it will take you directly to the listing where you can see more photos (and make a purchase if you’d like). Some things have already sold out - but I am adding new items every week. Be sure to follow along on Etsy / Instagram so you can be the first to know about new arrivals. Thank you to those of you who have supported this new venture of mine - I can’t wait to continue curating fun vintage finds for you! 🙂
