COMMISSION A PET PORTRAIT

A series of 4 holiday greeting cards designed using 100% beach plastic I’ve collected on my local beaches in New Jersey and New York. $1 from every card purchase made during the month of December 2018 will be / was donated to the Surfrider Foundation to aide their worldwide beach clean up efforts.

I always sort what I can for recycling, but know that a majority of it will sadly end up in landfill. This doesn’t sit right with me because while *yes* it IS better that it’s not in the ocean… it’s not exactly *much* better to bury it into the earth somewhere else. The sentiment makes me feel powerless… and so I’ve started keeping an assortment of the plastics I pick up. It’s physically impractical for me to keep it ALL - but I plan to use what I can to create art and continue the important conversation through that art.

I keep coming back to the Carrie Fisher quote: “Take your broken heart, make it into art.”

This collection of marine debris photography is an ongoing personal project of mine. Beach combing is one of my favorite hobbies, and I always try to pick up litter that I see when I am out searching for the usual treasures (seashells, sea glass, rocks, etc.)

I am really driven by the concept of capturing subject matter that isn’t typically perceived as beautiful in a bold and striking way.

I hope that these photos encourage others to pick up the trash that they see, rather than choosing to leave it behind.

I also hope that these photos can be a vehicle for the much larger conversation at stake here: the collective human race's negative impact on the environment and subsequent destruction of our one and only home (planet earth).

This selection of styled nature-themed photography is an ongoing personal project  / series of mine.

I have always been fascinated by the natural colors, patterns, and shapes / forms found in nature - and this is my exploration of that.

Recycled type is a series of display typefaces I created from recycled materials (plastic and cardboard) during my senior year of design school (2014).

Each letter was constructed by hand, photographed, and then retouched. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness about recycling and promote how things that are typically perceived as trash can be repurposed into something beautiful.

This series of images is an ongoing personal project of mine. In such a digital age - I love the tangible, experimental, and imperfect quality that polaroids have. I shoot them mostly while I am exploring some place that I have never been to before, but sometimes I will shoot local familiar subjects as well.
